Valentine's Day Date Ideas

Olivia Oliver

You have a special person in your life who you want to take out for Valentine's Day but you don't have any ideas… Well, you're in luck because we have a whole bunch. (prices included.)

You can do all of these things with a loved one (boyfriend, girlfriend, etc.) you can also do them with a friend or just by yourself if that's your type of thing.

Most of this date also would work well for a double date

Movies: romance is an amazing idea, but you could also see any type of movie. They can be anywhere between 9-20$. This could be more if you get candy/popcorn.

Picnics: What's more romantic than going to a beautiful spot in nature to enjoy your surroundings with someone you love? depending on what you have at home it would be anywhere between 10-30$ you can bring homemade sandwiches or you could pick up some fast food. Up to you.

Fancy or not-so-fancy dinner: not everything has to be all expensive and fancy to be enjoyable if you go somewhere like Denny’s which could be anywhere from 20-30$ or somewhere fancy like Outback Steakhouse which would be more like 100$

Nature walk: Nature is beautiful but so are your loved ones, take them on a nice scenic walk through the beautiful outdoors. This activity is free.

No-sew blankets: why not make matching blankets, they are fun and cozy. Around 12$ per blanket. 24$ for 2 (take your fabric, cut off any curled edges, and make a 5-inch by 5-inch cut at the corners, then on the sides make 1 inch apart from each other. After you have these cuts on all 4 sides start to tie them together, one on each side) (link to an example video)

Bowling: Want to strike a conversion? Go bowling with your loved ones and that's sure to do it. Going bowling costs around 15-35 dollars per game plus the inclusion of food.

Mini golf: It’s a tee-utiful day to take them to play a game of mini golf, it can make un-fore-gettable memories. It won't break your wallet it will only cost you about 24$ for 2 people

Game night: What's more fun than getting angry at a game with your favorite people? You could play anything from Monopoly to some online games like Mario Kart. Make it fun with a tournament. There are also scary games like Lethal Company which could be fun as well. (30-50$ depending on what you have and what you buy)

Crafts: a fan of DIY’s? Well here are some more ideas for you. Let dye fly by making matching or not-so-matching shirts. Follow a Bob Ross painting tutorial and see how it turns out. (20-40$ depending on what you're doing)

Day out: go somewhere and pick out something for each other. Like pick out a book for eachother then curl up and read them. Or thrift outfits of each other and have a fashion show. Trust us you will look great. (40-100$)

Day out p2: go to the zoo or aquarium (14$ for zoo, 40$ for aquarium)

Escape room: work on communication to build a strong healthy relationship, you could go to one in town or make one of your own (~80$)

Rage room: let all that teenage anger out on random objects in a rage room. Letting out anger in a healthy way is important so you don't end up hurting the ones you love (35-105$)

Bake/cook-off: bake/cook each other's favorite food. You don't have to know how to cook/bake, that will just make it fun. Don't forget the special ingredient love (40-60$)

scavenger hunt: make them a little scavenger hunt to find their gifts, be creative, write notes, and make them go places. (free if you have the stuff)

Trivia night: this could be about things you both like (movies, tv shows, ect) or it could be about each other. (free)

Stargaze: obviously this silly little list can not predict the weather on Valentine's Day but if it is clear out go out and stargaze, it's better if you are a little bit out of town so you don't get all the street lights lighting up the sky. We would suggest a blanket or something of the sort to lay on but if you just want to lay on the ground that works to (free)

Remember, Valentine's Day is a day to spend with your loved ones, no matter how much you spend or how much you have to spend,  you can always make those memories that will last longer than whatever you get them. There are a couple of free options on here that might be even more fun than some of the more expensive ones. So, instead of focusing on getting them the most expensive focus on those that will make the best memories and the ones that will make your relationship better and stronger.
