Things To Do Leading Up To Christmas

Olivia Ditchen & Luca Lamesta

With Christmas finally coming close I would say it's more than important to be getting in the spirit by doing some of the top Christmas activities. Christmas is one of the top holidays to bring people together so what better way to get closer to the ones you love than doing some of the top activities for the holidays?

  1. Ice Skating

Bundle up and head out to our local skate rink in Bloomington and enjoy one of the best winter activities ever! Take a look over at the Bloomington Ice Center they are open Monday through Sunday from 6AM to 12AM!

  1. Cookie Decorating

Christmas cookie season is here, cookies are a great way to send a friend a warm treat for the holiday. From the average gingerbread cookie to a warm chocolate chip there is a Christmas recipe for every cookie lover. We recommend a good Snickerdoodle or a yummy butter cookie frosted.

  1. Light Festival

Light up your Christmas with a drive through Peoria at the Festival of Lights. The drive-through festival is open every night through Monday, January 1st, 2024. They're hours are 5-9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, 5-11 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 5-9 p.m. December 24th through January 1st. Cost ranges from $10 - $150 depending on your vehicle. They are celebrating their 39th anniversary this year so head out and enjoy some fun under the lights!

  1. Gingerbread Houses

You can do this activity for fun with your little sibling or with your friends, and after finishing it you can use it as a decoration or you can eat it, naturally, you can do this activity at home, only buying some food like biscuits, sugar, chocolate etc.
