Senior Plans After Graduation

Eryn White

The Heyworth Stinger team interviewed several seniors to research what they are planning to do after high school graduation. The information we got was pretty spread out between going to college, joining the workforce, or enlisting in the military.

The largest portion of students asked said they had already applied to different colleges and universities and knew what they were going to do after school. A few of them specifically said they wanted to go to a trade school to learn how to do commercial jobs and pursue that job in the future. On the other hand, there were a good amount of people who said they were going to pursue a career after high school. The smallest response group said they wanted to go into the military. Those who wanted to enlist were also split into different branches, including the Army, the Navy, the National Guard, and the Marines.

As a junior myself, I feel that I want to pursue work after school and work up enough money to support myself and then eventually get into college. This information shocked me because I didn't think that so many people were already focused on what they wanted to do after high school because it's hard to believe that they will be going off into the big world in only a couple of months.
