With Halloween right around the corner, people are scrambling to get the best Halloween costume of the season. Whether it be the scariest or the coolest, people are stepping up their game. You can tell there is a push for scarier and scarier costumes each year based on the options available to purchase online or in stores.
We wanted to see if that trend for scary costumes was accurate in Heyworth, specifically, we wanted to see what students at HHS thought would be the scariest costume to get this year. After asking around and finding which people think scarier, the most common response centered around clowns. This may be because of coulrophobia or the fear of clowns, or it may be due in part to the resurgence of clowns in pop culture.
The IT movie series, inspired by the Stephen King books by the same name, definitely has catapulted clowns back into the Halloween tradition for scary costumes, so be prepared to see some scary clowns out and about this year.
