Thanksgiving is just around the corner, and now is the perfect time to get in the Holiday spirit. Below, we have listed some Thanksgiving movies to watch this Thanksgiving season. These movies range from silly cartoons to horror movies that you can enjoy as Thanksgiving nears.
First, we have A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving
Time after time Charlie Brown delivers a message that is much deeper than expected. Charlie Brown's Thanksgiving starts out with Patty inviting herself over to Charlie Brown’s for Thanksgiving. Charlie doesn’t know what to say, but Patty does all the speaking. Patty calls back to say many more want to come. Overwhelmed by Patty’s pushy plans, Charlie tells his friend, Linus that the only things he can make are cold cereal and, maybe, toast. Linus tells him not to worry, and that his friends will help Charlie with the Thanksgiving feast.
Meanwhile, Snoopy decides to get a start on the cooking. When everyone arrives, Snoopy gives them something very different than the traditional Thanksgiving meal. Eventually, Linus has to remind everyone how Thanksgiving started and what the holiday really means. Even though this is just a cute little show, A CHARLIE BROWN THANKSGIVING teaches children the history behind Thanksgiving. Even better, it also teaches that we should be thankful to God for what we have.
Second An Old Fashioned Thanksgiving
This 2008 film is based on a short story written by Louisa May Alcott. This movie follows the story of a recently widowed mother, Mary, who struggles to feed her three children. Seeing the struggles that her mother is facing, the eldest daughter, Tilly, writes to their rich grandmother, asking for help, and to reunite the family. However, conflict soon starts when the grandmother shows up. The family of four meets the unexpected guest for a family dinner. This movie is rated TV-Pg.
Third Free Birds
Pardoned by the president, a lucky turkey (Owen Wilson) named Reggie gets to live a carefree lifestyle until fellow fowl Jake (Woody Harrelson) recruits him for a history-changing mission. Jake and Reggie travel back to 1621, just before the first Thanksgiving. The plan: Prevent all turkeys from ever becoming holiday dinners. Unfortunately, the two birds encounter colonist Myles Standish (Colm Meaney), out to capture feathered friends for all the hungry Pilgrims.

Thanksgiving is a new movie coming out on November 17th, 2023. It is a slasher film about an axe-wielding maniac who terrorizes residents of Plymouth Mass. The usual Black Friday riot ends in tragedy when a mysterious killer picks off their victims one by one. The random group of revenge killings is soon realized to be a part of a much more evil and sinister plan. If you decide to watch this horror movie this year, you have been warned, that this movie has been rated R due to strong blood and gore themes, violence, and language.
Sixth New Girl, Thanksgiving episode 6 season 1
This episode is about a girl named Jess who invites her coworker, Paul the music teacher from the school they work who she has had a crush on for a while at this point in the show, to her and her roommates' big Thanksgiving dinner. As predicted in many comedies, this goes terribly wrong, which includes the dinner being burnt to them finding a crime scene in their neighbor's apartment when they try to save the bad dinner. This episode also shows the drama that is Black Friday shopping with all the craziness that comes with it. In the end, it was a lesson for them all that even if it didn't go the way they pictured the holiday to go in their heads, it went the way it was supposed to with friendship and loyalty.

The H-E-B Thanksgiving Day Parade takes place in Houston Texas. The parade has many sights and entertainment. The parde consists of live entertainment, giant balloons, marching bands, and an early-in-the-season appearance by Santa Claus. You can watch this parade KHOU 11 and KHOU 11+. The parade begins at 9 a.m., and repeats and 10 and 11 a.m.
The Chicago Thanksgiving Day parade takes place in Chicago, Illinois. The parade started in 1934 to lift the spirits of the citizens during the Great Depression. The parade consists of floats, equestrian units, balloons, and marching bands that go through the downtown of Chicago. The Macy’s Holiday Parade takes place in Seattle, Washington. Not to be confused with the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade which takes place 4,600 kilometers away, in New York City. This parade takes place the day after Thanksgiving. This parade consists of 25 inflatable floats, 650 costumed characters, marching bands and more.
