Next Thursday, March 7th, all Juniors will be taking the Illinois Science Assessment. Students will go to the High school gym to take this assessment and it will be from 8:15 to 12:00. It will take around 2 hours to complete. Students will not be allowed to have their phones during this time. The assessment is not just a fill-in-the-bubble type test, it makes you use your previous knowledge of science to answer and understand what the question is asking. The assessment has three untimed sections and will go over topics like earth science, space science, engineering, life science, and physical science. This assessment is important because it is required by the state that students take it, and it helps the school and the student's parents understand how well students are doing in science academically. It also helps the teachers know what they need to do and teach in their classes based on student's answers.
Eighth graders will also be taking the Illinois Science Assessment but they will take it on March 20th from 8:15-12:00.
