Football, Food, and Fun
Everyone knows at least some part of the traditions from the original Thanksgiving. These traditions and stories were ones that were taught all throughout our schooling. The story is built on the traditions that were created by the Pilgrims after their first harvest in the New World in October 1621. This feast lasted three days and was attended by 90 Native American Wampanoag people and 53 survivors of the Mayflower (Pilgrims).
However, the students in Heyworth High School have built their own traditions that are a little different from the original Thanksgiving. When interviewed, students said some of them like watching the big Thanksgiving football game but others just like spending time with their families.
As you can see people have many traditions and these traditions are inspired by what our own families did. These traditions stay in our hearts and will keep getting passed down to future generations.
So whatever you do to celebrate, we hope you have a very happy Thanksgiving!
