The Sanremo Music Festival, officially the Italian Song Festival currently hosted by Amadeus, is the most popular Italian song contest and awards ceremony, held annually in the city of Sanremo, Liguria. It is the longest-running annual TV music competition in the world on a national level and it is also the basis and inspiration for the annual Eurovision Song Contest.
This festival is a competition between singers that are already pretty famous, and it is a competition for new songs.
The Sanremo Music Festival is usually running up during the second week of February, at it starts the Tuesday night and it goes for all the week until the Saturday night, when the winner is announced.
In the 2021 the Maneskin won Sanremo, and they won later the Eurovision Song Contest, with the song “ Zitti e Buoni”. You may also be familiar with Maneskin as they broke into the US charts with songs like "I Wanna Be Your Slave" and "Beggin'".
Every year there are 30 singers participating in the festival. The most important this year are: Golier, Annalisa, Irama, Ghali, Mhammod, Emma, Angelina Mango and Rose Villain.

Rose Villain: Rosa Luini (born 20 July 1989), known professionally as Rose Villain, is an Italian
singer-songwriter. Villain first achieved popularity in 2016, thanks to the platinum certified single "Don Medellín" together with Italian rapper Salmo and then, in 2020, with the quadruple platinum certified single "Chico", together with Italian rapper Gue’ Pequeno.

The second singer is Ghali, his song for Sanremo is;’ Casa mia”, a song that talks about his child room and also the war in Palestine, he arrived fifth.

Another singer that did a really good competition is Geolier, he came second and he sang a song in Neapolitan dialect, he received a lot of votes by the public.

The singer that won the competition is Annalisa Mango, her song is really good and she also did a really good job on the cover night. Her song is:” La noia”.

On 24 March 2022, one month after the final of the 2022 edition, RAI officially confirmed Amadeus as the presenter of the 73rd and 74th editions of the Sanremo Music Festival, announcing in June 2023 that this would be his last time hosting the event. Each of the nights of the festival are being co-hosted, respectively, by: Marco Mengoni, the winner of the previous edition, who additionally performed his 2013 and 2023 winning entries "L'essenziale" and "Due vite" as well as other songs from his repertoire; Giorgia, who additionally performed her breakthrough song "E poi" and her 1995 winning entry "Come saprei", as well as other songs from her repertoire; Teresa Mannino; Lorella Cuccarini; and Rosario Fiorello, who was originally meant to be a guest on that night. The competing entries on each of the second and third nights are also being introduced by the non-competing artists alongside the hosts.
In addition, PrimaFestival, the introductory segment aired before each of the nights and during the opening red carpet, is being hosted by Paola & Chiara, Mattia Stanga and Daniele Cabras.
