Bingeable Movies and TV Shows

Alistair McCombs

My personal favorite TV shows to binge-watch during the holidays, especially for Valentine's Day.

Gnomeo and Juliet, by Kelly Asbury

Gnomeo and Juliet is in short based on the “Romeo and Juliet” play and book. In this version, they are gnomes, who were (like Romeo and Juliet) never meant to meet. It's a really cute shorter movie than a play or a book, they meet and eventually fall in love.

The Princess Bride by Rob Reiner and William Goldman

The Princess Bride is like the story of Cinderella in a way. The main girl, Buttercup (played by Robin Wright) is stuck in a love triangle with her true love Westley (played by Cary Elwes) and Prince Humperdinck (played by Chris Sarandon) whom Princess Buttercup is supposed to marry. The movie starts out with Westley fighting looking for Buttercup after their long separation while also saving her from getting married to Prince Humperdinck.

Lady and the Tramp by Joe Grant

Lady and the Tramp is an animated movie, in which Lady (played by Barbara Luddy) who is a loving pampered cocker spaniel, and The Tramp (played by Larry Roberts) a street dog. They end up meeting after Lady’s owners kick her out of the house after they have a puppy. The Tramp shows her what life can be like if Lady were to join him in the streets.

Grey’s Anatomy by Shonda Rhimes

Grey's Anatomy is a drama/romantic TV show and quite different from the other recommendations. The show follows Meredith Gray (played by Ellen Pompeo) with her then one-night stand, Derek Shepherd (played by Patrick Dempsey) who turns out later to be Meredith's boss. As she makes more friends in her internship she ends up dating Derek creating a lot more problems than good could ever come out of it.

As Valentine's Day is approaching I made a list of what I think and personal favorites of some movies and shows for the day or just casually watching. The movies I think are cute and good to watch with family or friends, and shows like Grey's Anatomy take more time to finish, but I still think that it is a romantic drama worth bingeing before Valentine's Day.
