Movie Review

Together we all went to see the new Barbie Movie in theaters. We went to Marcus Theatres on Sunday and we all enjoyed the movie and the movie theater experience. But, what's a movie theater experience without snacks?! We will each individually share our review of the movie itself, the movie theater that we went to, our seating, and the snacks that each of us got.
Our Reviews:
Olivia: I thought that the theater was very comfortable for the long movie, I found myself feeling very nostalgic during the movie as I was a kid who used to play with Barbies all the time. It was a great representation to show that Barbie doesn't always need her Ken and that we can all just be ourselves. I would definitely rewatch this movie. At the theater, I got a small bag of popcorn and Coke but I always get the Crunch chocolate bites for candy. I personally think that's the best snack for the theaters.
Lyla: Marcus Theater is a great place to go and watch a movie. If you're a student make sure to bring your ID and you get a discount with the food and drinks. They have a variety of snacks and drinks such as popcorn, pretzels, bites, and ICEES. The movie theater has a full-screen TV with huge speakers. One of the best things about Marcus Theater is the reclining chairs. This was newly designed a couple of years ago. I recommended going to the Marcus Theater in Bloomington-Normal. This theater is one of the most comfortable theaters to watch a movie for a long time. You can bring a blanket to make yourself feel more at home too. This movie was very emotional and feminist. This is one of the best movies I have watched this year. If you are ever bored go to Marcus Theater to watch this great movie. Don't forget to bring a blanket and grab some snacks. After you're done with watching the movie you can go and play some games at the arcade! I recommended going to Marcus Theater.
Luca: I didn't like that movie too much, but the atmosphere was cool and also the theater was really beautiful, so it was a beautiful experience. I have been to several theaters to watch many different movies and a lot of movies were better than the Barbie Movie, but the atmosphere of the Marcus Theater was really cool. Also, the atmosphere was improved because people were dressing up in pink to see Barbie.
Kylie: The Barbie Movie is now one of my favorite movies of all time and I cried multiple times throughout the movie. It was very emotional and funny at the same time. It was also a very relatable movie because it made me miss my childhood, appreciate my mom more, and it reminded me that everyone has a purpose in this world. This was my 3rd time watching it and I would still willingly choose to watch it again. The snacks that I got were popcorn, a blue raspberry ICEE, and lemon heads. The reason I chose the snacks I did is because I wanted a variation of salty, sweet, and sour. We sat in the middle of the movie theater in the very back, which I think is the best seat because you see the movie head-on, it's not hard to see, and you can also watch other people's reactions, which I think is funny. You’re also able to whisper and no one will be able to hear us or be bothered by us. The seats were also very comfortable and were able to be reclined back so you could watch the movie comfortably.
The prices at the movie theater were not horrible, but they probably would’ve been cheaper if we had gone to the Clintonia Eagle Movie Theatre. The food was also pretty expensive and refills were not free. On average, we spent $20 to see the movie, so be prepared. Additionally, they have an arcade in the lobby that you can play before or after your movie begins if you need something else to do.
